Details: This is a fee pay mine that you can find your own sapphires in Montana. It is called Gem Mountain Sapphire Mine. It is also listed on the Travel Channel Treasure Wiki.
Directions: I could not easily located directions on their website, but they do have a phone number listed. I borrowed the GPS from mindat.org.

rockhound person - Jan 12, 2012 10:12:21 AM EST This is a fun place to take the kids as well as for big kids.  They have everything you need to sift their buckets for sapphires, including a washing area for the gravel and screens.  It's not cheap but you have better luck finding gemstones than if you just went out in the local stream and tried your luck.
