Location Type: Public Access
Details: Gypsum Crystals can be picked up off the ground or chiseled from the solid bed in this open pit on BLM land.
Hats, water & sunscreen are highly recommended!
Rock hammer/chisel etc. if you want to dig your own.

Directions: Get yourself to the intersection of Southern Parkway & Warner Valley Rd.  (At some point in the future you may be able to take the exit at Airport Parkway, but not at the time of this writing 2016)
Turn South off of Warner Valley Road onto a dirt road just east of the Southern Pkwy overpass. Follow that main dirt road for 4.25mi South.
Take a fork off to the right that goes over a cattle guard and down through a dry wash.  (If you miss the turn, the road ends at a turn-a-round in 0.5mi so you won't have to backtrack very far).
Glitter Mountain is 1.75 mi. from this turnoff.
At the Arizona border(at 0.2 mi), continue Straight South.
Take the Left fork in the road at about 0.75mi.
The sparkling mounds of tailings can clearly be seen off to the right of the road.
