Details: You can surface collect for obsidian, petrified wood, obsidian needles, and gemstones on the east side of the Warner mountains according to the Modoc National Forest Service website.
Search the exposed rock up the many canyons on the east side of the Warner Mountains range. You are limited to surface collecting one bucket per day.
Directions: I marked an area that had a road from Eagleville, but I have no idea what is there or where the real place to go is. The mountain range seemed a very long north-south expansion.
