Details: I found book mica and black tourmaline in a roadcut near El Valle. I don't know exactly what the host rock is because I'm not a geologist and I wasn't experienced in rockhounding in that area. It was raining steadily and my wife was waiting so I only spent 20 minutes looking around. I pulled some books of mica and some black tourmaline in matrix from some piles of rock at the base of the roadcut. The tourmaline came from the base of the whitest vertical layer of the exposure. I'll post the pictures later.
Directions: Going north on the high road to Taos, it was just before entering the El Valle town limits. I'll post the exact coordinates later.
