It appears to cost $25 (with a collecting limit) and you have to call Mr. Jackie Ball at 828-649-3464 and arrive at the Sandy Bottom Trail Rides to sign the release form, make payment, and get directions. You can find giant garnet crystals there and some samples are also found at the mindat link.
