Details: There is some information about this in the "New Mexico rocks & minerals: the collecting guide (including maps)" By Frank S. Kimbler, Robert J. Narsavage. It is on page 17 and is location 11. It says you can find flourite and barite here. Go the book preview online at this google books location. It calls the site Doc Longs Recreational area.
Directions: From recreation.gov: "From Albuquerque drive east on I-40 approximately 7 miles to exit 175. Proceed north on Highway 14, 7 miles to Highway 536. Go west on Highway 536, 1-1/2 miles to Doc Long Picnic Ground. "
