Details: For more details go to the state park website. This site currently has the most up to date info. According to it, "Fairy stones are staurolite, a combination of silica, iron and aluminum. Staurolite crystallizes at 60 or 90 degree angles, hence the stone's cross-like structure."
The park is open starting at 8am and there is a fee for parking.
