"i was actually pulled off beyond the shoulder. Far enough to where when i opened my door it wasn't even close to traffic. After i got home i called the troop d in Springfield Mo and asked them if there were any rules on collecting on Missouri roadways and they told me it was officer preference but they thought if its not it should be illegal due to safety

"i stopped in back in march and a state trooper told me i had to leave as my being stopped there was a safety hazard. Has anyone else had this happen to them or was it just a trooper in a foul mood?

"stopped here in dec 2010 was real picked ofer or road was covering location either way was unable to find much worth talking about. just a couple of things in the ditch that may have been heavily worn brookite and some noncrystal smokey quartz we tilled around on the shoulder and ditch where you can see others did but didnt find anything really

i just posted a pic of 1 of 5 clusters my stepson and i found at fiddlers ridge. you can see that most people just dig around in what they bring up, but at the top of the hill there is a smaller pit and the upper region of the larger pit can be accessed here as well. i drove my car all the way up to the pits to dig. it can be alot of work and it takes a good eye but the payoff can be real nice. i recommend this location. well worth the money to me
