"This information is at least 40 years out of date. There is no longer legal access to the area below Coolidge dam by non-tribal members or BIA staff. The road from the dam down to the Gila River is gated at the west end of the dam. I do not believe that camping/recreation permits are issued for access to the river. The tribe has forbidden or at least discouraged rafters and kayakers from reaching the river via the reservation. "
