"The marcasite is not stable and forms sulfuric acid as it decays. An unstable marcasite should be keep away from other minerals. It is a geological mystery why many marcasite specimens are unstable and some are not. I have a miners dollar from Illinois that has been stable for years.

"There is several places in North West Arkansas that have pyrite and marcasite. There are fossils in the Fayetteville Shale that are preserved in pyrite especially the nautiloids.

"I have collected very nice drusy quartz on the east side of Hollister. I have a large piece in sandstone that weighs about 70 ponds in my flower bed. I posted this but it did not appear?

"I have collected some very nice drusy quartz in Branson at a subdivision on the east side of Hollister. I have one in my yard that weighs about 70 pounds. The host rock is sandstone with quartz vugs in the matrix.
