Location Type: Public Access
Details: South and West of town in creeks and fields you can find geodes lined with calcite and quartz. Few details can be found on the Travel Channel's Treasure Wiki Alabama page. The broken link also says: "Helpful notes to newcomers: The lighter stones are the ones you want. The rough geodes look like cauliflower heads. Handy to bring along: 1.Wading shoes 2.Hand tools 3.Rock Hammer"
Directions: South and west of Athens in streams and fields.
