Description: SPHALERITE, CHALCOPYRITE on QUARTZ. Ouray County. Size: 2 3/8" x 1 13/8" x 1". The Camp Bird Mine was discovered in 1896 and operated until 1990. A brief attempt to reopen it a few years ago only lasted a few months.
