Description: Up for your consideration is a very nice impression and compression Pecopteris fern split pair from the classic Mazon Creek locality near Braidwood, Illinois. Actually, "outcrop" may be an overgenerous use of the word; the cobbles were unearthed in large open pit coal mines, now long since depleted.
