Feldspar, mica, and black tourmaline crystals have been found here according to an entry at the Travel Channel's Treasure Wiki Colorado Page. Go there for more information. It says: "Feldspar and mica are in abundance along the road the Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Black tourmaline crystals are in the feldspar matrix. The cuts in the roadside where the minerals are is very close to the road. There is a 1 ft deep trench between the road and the road cut. Be extremely careful. At Robinson Hill Road is where we found a small vein of large chunks of black tourmaline in the white feldspar matrix. Very interesting specimens, and gorgeous scenery!! Handy to bring along: 1. Hand tools 2. Rock bag 3. Rock Hammer Be sure to see Golden Gate Canyon State park http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/goldengatecanyon" | Go to the Travel Channel's Treasure Wiki Colorado Page for directions.
